some have 2011, others 2018, 2016 etc etc.Īs I posted, that is not at all a concern. for instance there might be a dependency on systemd for a newer version, or some such situation.Īs for your 2017 concern. On some occasions this cannot happen but most often there is a reason posted for rejecting the request. The procedure in PCLOS is when an update to a package like Wacom is needed, the user can make a request for it to be updated and put in the repository. Synaptic does tell what version of the package is there and also what version is installed. I'm perplexed as to what could have changed across all PCLinuxOS LiveCDs between one year ago and today that would have affected the functionality of the Wacom tablet and whether there is a remedy for this. I tried live versions of other distros, and none had this problem. Updating via Synaptic changed nothing in the new or old LiveCDs. The new LiveCDs had no problem with a standard mouse, just the tablet. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any posts on similar issues, certainly nothing recent. I couldn't upgrade that on LiveCD since it requires a restart. The command "modinfo wacom" showed version 2.00 on both (which is dated but works on the old Live CDs and other distros). I checked Synaptic, and the exact same drivers were there. I tested the old LiveCD, and there was no problem. I tried this on MATE, KDE, and Trinity, and all three had the exact same problem. On the new LiveCDs, the pointer moves slowly and appears to have difficulty changing direction and responding at times. A lot happened to delay things, but I tried out the latest LiveCD (first on MATE - my preferred desktop), and I had problems with my tablet (Wacom Intuos 3 PTZ-430) which I use as my mouse as I prefer the feel.
